Join Our Team
Post-doctoral and research technician positions are now available in Translational Research at Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI). Come join our team in Seattle, and learn to apply cutting edge cellular analyses combined with big data approaches to the cure of autoimmune disease. Please send your CV and an introductory letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What will I work on?
Potential projects include determining the causes and consequences of reduced IL-2R signaling in T1D; determining cellular definition and stability of CD8 T cell exhaustion associated with response to therapy; determining immune, cellular and functional profiles of lymphocyte subsets involved in autoimmune disease progression and response to therapy and assessing immune responses in clinical trials.
Who will I work with?
Translational Immunology involves interdisciplinary teams, involving both core facilities and the laboratories of multiple Principal Investigators (PIs), including Drs. Alice Long, Jane Buckner, and Karen Cerosasetti. The Long lab works cross-functionally with the Human Immunophenotyping (HIP) Core. Our website has more information on our core facilities and PIs.
What is BRI and why do I want to work there?
BRI is an internationally recognized medical research institute focused on finding cures for autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. We stress excellence in advanced laboratory experimentation and carefully designed translational research programs. This offers our scientists the opportunity to directly impact the lives of people suffering from diseases including type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, allergies and asthma.
Who should apply?
We are seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated yet team-oriented individuals with an aptitude for learning and a desire to improve human health. The staff we are seeking will hold doctoral degrees in modern experimental immunology or a related field. Exposure to advanced flow cytometry and large data-sets or bioinformatics is preferred.
