Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet is an international research network dedicated to identifying people at risk for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and evaluating strategies to delay or prevent disease onset. As one of TrialNet’s clinical centers, BRI enrolls participants in studies that improve understanding of disease progression and evaluate interventions before symptoms develop.
Dr. Griffin serves as codirector of BRI’s TrialNet clinical center alongside Sandra Lord, MD. Under their leadership, the center conducts studies such as the ongoing Pathway to Prevention study, expanding access to screening and prevention research for people at risk for T1D while also evaluating interventions that may slow or prevent disease progression.

The Comprehensive Analysis, Surveillance and Statistics Initiative for Diabetes in the Young network is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and conducts diabetes surveillance among children, adolescents and young adults.
