Study Summary

We want to understand how a person’s environment shapes their immune system and contributes to their risk of developing disease.

Eligibility Criteria

Firefighters who:

• will work a wildfire in 2026.
• are able to travel to the Seattle area for two study visits.
• are generally healthy.

What will study participants be asked to do?

• Donate two blood samples, one before and one after wildfire smoke exposure.
• Answer questions about your health history and smoke exposure.
• Join the BRI Healthy Control Biorepository.

You will receive a stipend for your participation.
