Timothy Kountz, PhD

Post Doctoral Research Associate, Kwok Lab; Center for Translational Immunology

Timothy is a native of the Pacific Northwest and attended the University of Washington for undergraduate training in biochemistry. Following graduation, he did graduate training in the laboratory of Murali Prakriya at Northwestern University. His work there revolved around receptor and ion channel signaling in airway epithelial cells with an emphasis on cytokine production. Following graduation, he returned to the Pacific Northwest with a postdoctoral fellowship in William Kwok’s laboratory. His main project in the Kwok lab revolves around investigating the role of CD8 T cells in Rheumatoid Arthritis. Outside the lab, he enjoys exercising and reading a plethora of books.
