Rebecca Gomez

Research Technician III, Khor Lab; Center for Translational Immunology

Rebecca Gomez studied biology at the University of Texas at Dallas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She began her immunology career at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, studying broadly neutralizing antibodies for HIV prevention and immune responses to Ebola vaccination.

At Benaroya Research Institute, she joined the Kwok Lab, where she studied antigen-specific CD4 T cell responses in peanut allergy, rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 diabetes. She now works in the Khor Lab, combining experimental and computational approaches to characterize immune aging and vaccine responses in people with Down syndrome and to test whether related immune phenotypes are reproduced in mouse models.
