Alina graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biology from the University of Oklahoma in 2015. Her research interests lie in tolerance mechanisms, specifically in the areas of allergy and autoimmunity. She has spent her time at the BRI uncovering the role of apoptotic receptors, such as Integrin αvβ3, in regulating TLR signaling to prevent autoimmune disease. She intends to continue her academic career after graduation and pursue a postdoctoral position in immunology. In her spare time, Alina enjoys reading and playing tabletop board games with friends.
