What Will I Work On?
Potential projects in the Wight lab may focus on:
- Determining whether pericellular hyaluronan surrounding dendritic cells contributes to priming of autoreactive T-cells in type 1 diabetes.
- The role of versican in the regulation of allergen-induced airway pathophysiology in asthma
- Investigating the mechanisms responsible for airway extracellular matrix dysregulation in asthma
- The roles of hyaluronan and versican in contributing to inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis.

BRI is a highly collaborative scientific environment, and the Wight lab has ongoing collaborations with many of the laboratories in the institute as well as with colleagues at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Research Institute.

Who Should Apply?
We are seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated yet team-oriented individuals with an aptitude for learning and a desire to improve human health. The individuals we are seeking will hold doctoral degrees (post-doctoral fellows) or bachelor/masters of science degrees in immunology or a related field. Expertise in cellular, molecular and biochemical assays, and Flow Cytometry analysis is preferred.
