The External Communications Specialist II is an essential position in the BRI Marketing and Communications department (MarCom) at the Benaroya Research Institute. Attention immunologists and/or genetics/genomics experts: the Ray Lab and Harrison Lab at the Benaroya Research Institute have a joint post-doctoral fellow position open to conduct research on a funded project pertaining to genetic risk for inflammatory bowel disease and how genetic mutations influence T cell function during intestinal inflammation. The Ray Lab intersects immunology and genetics to define genetic mechanisms that drive risk for autoimmune diseases. The Harrison Lab investigates how T cells promote intestinal homeostasis, inflammation and repair. Together, our collaborative efforts seek to define how human genetic variation contributes to disease through performing CRISPR genome editing and other functional genomic approaches in immune cells and define how genetic risk alters cellular expression and function in human cells and mouse models of IBD. The Khor laboratory is seeking a high-mentoring, high-achieving environment currently seeking a highly motivated and creative individual for the position of Research Technician I-II The individual will be engaged in studying novel pathways regulating inflammation and autoimmunity, particularly in the context of Down syndrome. As a Research Technician I will be responsible for providing technical laboratory support for biomedical research projects performing both routine and non-routine lab procedures. This is a transitory training position; the selected individual will receive strong mentoring to promote scientific growth and development. As a Research Technician II you will be responsible for performing investigative work for research project, performing experimental procedures and operating specialized and highly technical laboratory equipment. The Clinical Research Center (CRC) is an outpatient, hospital-based clinic which provides nursing services for pediatric and adult participants enrolled in research studies, with an emphasis on autoimmune diseases (particularly Type 1 Diabetes), and immune therapies. The Registered Nurse supports and supplements regular staff during high census days and in other special circumstances, by providing various nursing services including:  - Starting IVs - Infusing investigational agents - Performing blood draws - Checking vital signs - Monitoring for adverse events - Other required nursing support to the research staff The Per Diem Research Nurse will cover primarily day shift hours, though evening and night shifts may periodically be offered.  Due to the nature of scheduling on the CRC, the available shifts offered to the Per Diem pool often vary substantially from one month to the next. The Research Assistant (RA) would offer support on a variety of clinical trials that we conduct in various phases of study development. Benaroya Research Institute and the Clinical Research Program encourage teamwork and collaboration. We have unparalleled support from our physicians, clinic staff and study staff. The RA will support the Clinical Research Coordinators and assist with a variety of duties related to the conduct of clinical research protocols. This is not a lab-based position.   This RA position will work within the Cancer Clinical Research Unit on a variety of oncology trials. This role will assist with the conduct of multiple interventional oncology trials in addition to investigator-initiated non-interventional and biorepository trials.     Candidates for this position should have a strong interest in patient interaction, working alongside health care providers, teamwork, and ensuring accuracy in all aspects of data collection, entry, and resolution. Candidates must be able to integrate knowledge of regulatory requirements and the elements of Good Clinical Practice into their work. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of study coordinators and will find many opportunities to grow within the team as they gain experience.

The Clinical Research Assistant will work closely with the Center for Interventional Immunology study team to recruit and enroll participants, with and without autoimmune disease, conduct study visits and maintain study records in accordance with specified protocol and procedures for the Translational Research Program Immune Mediated Disease Registry and Repository.   This is not a lab-based position.

The BRI Center for Interventional Immunology (CII) is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative staff scientist to join our team. Our analyses focus on identifying immune and metabolic markers associated with clinical outcomes, and identification of predictors of response to therapy. The CII includes scientific and clinical investigators and experienced teams to support our studies; together, we design, perform, and analyze data from clinical research studies that aim to better understand the drivers and consequences of immune-mediated disease.

The James Lab at the Benaroya Research Institute (BRI) in Seattle, WA is seeking a motivated Research Technician II to join our highly collaborative team. Research in the James Lab focuses on the study of interactions between autoreactive T cells and target tissue.  The lab uses flow cytometry and emerging cutting-edge technologies, including stem cell differentiation and single cell techniques to answer fundamental questions about human disease, to identify key targets that provoke autoimmunity, to develop informative biomarkers, and to explore mechanisms of disease progression.

The principal focus of the Ziegler Laboratory is the development and regulation of the immune system. We are taking a variety of approaches, ranging from a detailed molecular analysis of gene expression to the generation of model systems of human autoimmune disease.
