Background
Dr. Chaussabel received his MS degree in biology and his PhD in immunology from the University of Brussels. He was a fellow at the University of North Wales in Bangor and completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases in Bethesda, Maryland. In 2004, Dr. Chaussabel joined the Baylor Institute for Immunology Research in Dallas, Texas, as an Assistant Member. In 2008, he became Associate Investigator and Director, Center for Personalized Medicine, at BIIR. In 2010, he joined Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason as an Associate Member and Director of the Systems Immunology Division.
Areas of Research
The Systems Immunology Division is organized as a research laboratory and technology platform. It encompasses several disciplines, including medicine, immunology, genomics, bioinformatics, biostatistics and software engineering. Bringing together these various disciplines allows researchers to tackle difficult questions and provides the ideal environment for educating clinicians and scientists who will become thought leaders in the field of translational research. This team leverages high throughput profiling technologies to develop novel means to assess the status of the human immune system and enable early detection of disease, complications and response to therapy. Our team also develops innovative approaches to accelerate immunological knowledge discovery.
