Background

Christian Kuhr received his MD at the University of Washington where he remained and completed a residency in Urology and a fellowship in multi-organ transplantation. He subsequently spent time in the laboratories of Drs. Roger Perlmutter and Leroy Hood investigating T cell development and the role the homeobox genes play in lineage decisions. His current research interests intersect with his clinical work as a transplant surgeon and focus on the mechanisms underpinning immune tolerance. This work is carried out jointly at the BRI and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center where he collaborates with Dr. Rainer Storb.
