Background
Charlie Quinn studied mathematics and computer science at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. After completing his studies he joined the engineering consulting company Monenco Agra, designing and assisting in the implementation of new technology for the Government of Canada and other organizations. He spent a year in Bhutan for the Asian Development Bank and then moved to Corel Corporation leading projects in graphics applications and Java programming language. In 2004, he joined Damien Chaussabel, PhD, at the Baylor Institute for Immunology Research, Dallas, Texas, to head up the informatics section of the bioinformatics group. In 2010, he joined Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason to establish and manage the Data Management Systems Core Laboratory within the new System Immunology Division headed by Dr. Chaussabel.
Areas of Research
The informatics group aims to develop and extend tools for the knowledge and data management systems for Systems Immunology. It will also help with the development of new data mining applications and analysis pipelines. The group will enable science by creating systems for the scientists to explore data more easily.
