Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory
The Flow and Image Cytometry Core Laboratory analyzes, selects, sorts and identifies cells in a variety of parameters. The laboratory offers state-of-the-art instruments for investigators' use including:
- Three Becton Dickinson FACScalibur analyzing flow cytometer
- One Becton Dickinson FACSort (FACScan) analyzing flow cytometer
- One Becton Dickinson FACS DiVa high speed cell sorter system with 8-color capability with three lasers
- One Becton Dickinson LSRII Special Order System with 12–color analysis capability with three lasers
Technical assistance in using the instrumentation is available. Training to operate the instrumentation (FACScalibur, FACSort and LSRII) is also available. The FACS DiVa high speed sorter is operated by the core director for scientists.
Availability:
Open to both BRI scientists and external investigators.
Manager:
K. Arumuganathan, PhD, (Aru) directs the facility and he operates the FACS DiVa cell sorter system.
