Position: Senior Grants & Contracts Analyst
Department: Grants & Contracts
Status: Full-time (Mon-Fri, 8:30 – 5:00)
Responsibilities and Qualifications: We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional with applicable grant experience in the nonprofit, research administration field. Under general direction, the Senior Analyst will take a lead role in making the grant cycle a seamless process from start to finish both as an individual contributor and as part of the grants and contracts team.
Essential Functions:
• Review grants and contracts to ensure compliance with appropriate federal, state and local regulations, and with agency specific award terms and conditions
• Assist Principal Investigators and administrative staff to coordinate research grants applications for new proposals and renewals
• Provide fiscal management for all grants and contracts (including center grants and or program awards), pre-award compliance to post-award administration
• Develop and disseminate spreadsheet for financial analysis
• Monitor general ledger, identify and resolve any discrepancy with financial journals and cost transfers
• Develop and negotiate contract agreements with private and federal sponsors
• Maintain working knowledge of on-line financial systems
• Write and maintain departmental policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
• BA/BS degree in business administration or a related field
• Minimum of four years of related grants and contracts management and administrative analysis experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for BA/BS degree. Experience in a non-profit research organization or university environment preferred
• Knowledge of NIH pre-and post award administration
• Knowledge of OMB Circulars (A-110, A-122 and A-133); Federal Agency policies including NIH, DOD and NSF is highly desirable, Private Institution Policies (JDRF, ADA) a plus
• Computer literacy with emphasis on MS Excel, Word and Access
• Ability to analyze, problem solve, interpret and apply policies/regulations
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks to achieve desired goals
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with job functions
