What is the Bladder Cancer: Non-Cystectomy Candidates with Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer (RTOG 0524) study?
Group 1: Patients with Her2/Neu overexpression (Radiation plus Chemotherapy with Paclitaxel and Trastuzumab) Group 2: Patients without Her2/Neu overexpression (Radiation plus Chemotherapy with Paclitaxel)
Who can participate?
Eligibility: ~Histologically or cytological confiramtion of Transitional Cell Carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder with mauscularis propria invasion. ~Must be registered within 12 weeks of diagnosis ~Judged to be medically inapporiate for radical cystectomy ~Must have sufficient tumore tissue available for her2/neu analysis Ineligibility: ~Prior invasive mailignancy unless disease free for a minimum of 3 years ~Previous systemice chemotherapy of any sort for TCC ~Previous radiation therapy (includes seed implantation)
