Examples of Contributions

Some examples of contributions that make a difference in BRI's groundbreaking work:

  • The Rasmuson family has established two funds, the Elmer and Mary Louise Rasmuson Endowed Fellowship and the Rapid Research Fund in Arthritis and Rheumatic Disease Research. This powerful combination of funds supports both emerging and ongoing research in the field of rheumatology, enabling BRI to stay at the forefront of discovering the causes and cures for debilitating diseases of the joints and muscles.

  • The William Randolph Hearst Foundation has provided endowment support for BRI's Core Lab. The Core Lab is a vitally important shared resource that provides access to the latest technology and equipment for all of BRI's researchers without unnecessary duplication of equipment. This endowment significantly supports BRI's research infrastructure, while providing perpetual funding for rapidly developing and improved technology.

  • The M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust has provided generous support to ensure that BRI laboratories have the equipment and infrastructure needed to keep pace with the accelerating rate of research and medical knowledge. Laboratories must be able to support the changing demands of research methods and advancing technology. This charitable trust enables our laboratories to be resources for rapid innovation in scientific discovery.

  • Unrestricted Support from thousands of donors each year goes to the areas of greatest opportunity. These contributions provide seed funding for the promising work of talented young researchers, allow for the purchase of equipment and technology, and support translational research and clinical trials. The fund also assists with community education and outreach activities for people struggling with autoimmune diseases.
