Q. How do I find a list of studies currently available?
A. Visit our Find a Research Study page and select the area/s of your interest.

Q. I would like to participate in a clinical trial, what do I need to do?
A. Each study lists a phone number and e-mail information for the point of contact.

Q. I do not want to call long distance, is there a toll free number I can use?
A. Yes, the toll free number is 1-877-248-4802.

Q. What is the Rasmuson Foundation?
The Rasmuson Foundation is an organization devoted to providing opportunites to Alaskans.

Q. I cannot afford to travel to Seattle to participate in a clinical trial, how does the Rasmuson Foundation help me?
A. The Rasmuson Foundation awarded a grant to Benaroya Research Institute specifically to cover the travel expenses (airfare, ground transportation and lodging) of qualified Alaskans to Seattle and back for trial participation.

Q. How do I know if I qualify for a clinical trial?
Contact the person listed on the clinical trial you are interested in to find out if you qualify for the study.

Q. I am already participating in a clinical trial at Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason Medical Center. How do I get my travel expenses reimbursed?
Contact your research coordinator or Gail Chumbley with your request.

Q. What expenses are covered?
All air and ground transportation and lodging. The grant does not cover food or entertainment.

Q. What do I need to submit for reimbursement?
Airfare Itinerary, airfare receipts, ground transportation receipts, lodging receipts. We cannot reimburse bills without receipts.

Q. I can't afford to pay for my trip myself, is there a way I can still participate in a clinical trial?
Yes, contact Gail Chumbley and travel arrangements will be made with no out of pocket airfare, ground transportation and lodging costs to you.
